History of The Lebanese Medical Journal
In 1994, two years after its establishment, the executive committee of the Lebanese Order of Physicians decided to publish a Scientific Journal as an instrument to advance education of physicians and bring attention to its membership and audience news and opinions of the LOP.
Initially known as “La Revue Medicale Libanaise”, the journal acquired its present title, “The Lebanese Medical Journal (LMJ) /Le Journal Médical Libanais” in 1951.
With time and despite the partial and forced interruption during the years of the civil strife (1975-1990) LMJ continues to grow at a robust rate. It has been become a reputable medical magazine covered in several indexing organizations.
