Overview

The Lebanese Medical Journal or abbreviated title (LMJ) or parallel language titles “Journal Medical Libanais” or “Magallat at-Tibbiyat al-Lubnaniyyat” or  “المجلة الطبية اللبنانبة”  or Medline abbreviation “J Med Liban”, is the official fully open access, publish for free, journal of the scientific committee of the Lebanese Order of Physicians (LOP).

Aims and Scope

LMJ is an active, refereed / Peer-reviewed / academic / scholarly journal dated to 1948, in paper PISSN 0023-9852, and online format, that publishes original articles and research across a broad spectrum of medical scientific disciplines and sub-specialties, review, case reports, medical ethics, news from the Order of Physicians, and contributions to the history of medicine in Lebanon in French, Arabic and/or English text. The subject classification of LMJ is “Medical Sciences” in Dewey # 610.

Manuscript submission, Journal policy and Membership

All manuscripts should be submitted online. To ensure the ongoing quality of LMJ's content, the Triple-Blinded peer-review process which is an essential part of LMJ’s decision, will only accept content that is scientifically, technically, and ethically sound, and in compliance with standard reporting guidelines.The accepted paper must adhere to the EQUATOR Network (https://www.equator-network.org/) reporting guidelines.

LMJ reviewers are Physicians from different specialties, working in Lebanon or abroad.

LMJ is published in a frequency of 4 to 6 times a year and it includes table of contents, bibliographies, charts, reviews, illustrations, Index to articles, advertising, and free samples.

LMJ is a member of the Committee on Publishing Ethics (COPE) and follows their recommendations on publication ethics and standards.

LMJ follows the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE) Recommendations for the Conduct, Reporting, Editing and Publication of Scholarly Work in Medical Journals.

All LMJ editors pursue Lifelong learning by joining the World Association of Medical Editors (WAME).
