The Lebanese Medical Journal (LMJ) respects the intellectual property rights of authors and is committed to protecting the copyright of published scholarly work while promoting the broad dissemination of scientific knowledge through open access publishing.
Authors retain the copyright of their work upon publication in LMJ. By submitting and publishing their manuscript, authors grant the journal a non-exclusive license to publish, reproduce, distribute, archive, and make the article available online as part of the journal’s official publication record.
All articles published in LMJ are made freely available under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0) License. This license permits users to read, download, copy, distribute, print, share, adapt, and reproduce the published work in any medium or format, provided that appropriate credit is given to the original author(s) and the source of publication.
Authors are responsible for ensuring that all submitted content, including text, figures, tables, images, and supplementary materials, does not infringe upon the copyright or intellectual property rights of any third party. Where copyrighted material is used, authors must obtain the necessary permissions before submission and provide evidence of such permissions upon request.
Any material reproduced from previously published sources must be appropriately acknowledged, and written permission must be obtained from the copyright holder when required. Authors are solely responsible for securing permissions for third-party content included in their manuscripts.
Authors may deposit and share the published version of their article on personal websites, institutional repositories, academic social networks, or other non-commercial platforms, provided that proper citation to the original publication in LMJ is included.
If any copyright infringement or intellectual property concern is identified before or after publication, LMJ reserves the right to investigate the matter and take appropriate action, including correction, removal of content, or retraction of the article where necessary.
Through this policy, LMJ seeks to balance the protection of authors’ intellectual property rights with the widest possible dissemination and accessibility of scientific research.
